Verizon to embed a CDMA chip in next gen iPad
Geek.com is reporting that Verizon’s CFO has confirmed that the next generation iPad (before iPad 2?) will be available with an embedded CDMA chip. Currently, users who opt for Verizon’s 3G iPad are required to use a separate adapter, or “Dongle”, to connect to Verizon’s CDMA network. With the release of the next generation iPad, it looks as though CDMA with be “dongle-free!” This could happen (hopefully!) as early as Feb. 10th, 2011, the public-release date of the recently unveiled Verizon CDMA iPhone 4.
